The Running Club certainly finished the South County Cross Country Races Competition on a high, achieving an AMAZING 2nd place overall out of 68 schools competing! The scores were carefully calculated on each schools performance over all the previous races (and including the final).
The final was held in Corkagh Park, Clondalkin yesterday, 11th May. Tensions were running high as we arrived and saw the competition, however the nerves soon settled once the girls started racing. It was a day of glorious sunshine and the atmosphere was electric.
We achieved a 1st place (Alannah Giles) and a 2nd place (Eva McCormack) among many other placements on the day.
Well done girls on such a fantastic achievement yesterday, and on your commitment to the training throughout the year. The school is so proud of you.
