On the 14th of November 2019, we were so excited when we won the Intel Mini Scientist competition in our school. Our project was ‘What is in onions and how can you prevent it?’ We were invited to participate in a further competition, the Intel Regional Final which was on the 6th December in the Technological University Dublin Blanchardstown campus.
We arrived at the campus and set up our project boards and experiments along with children from many schools around the country. We had a little practice and not long after, the judging started. We were all very nervous. When the judges came over they asked us lots of questions about onion investigations. Luckily we were able to answer all their questions.
We were brought our lunches and were entertained by Doctor Wows Science Show. She demonstrated lots of fun. interactive science experiments. Once that was over we had a look around at some other very interesting and unusual projects. We had a great day and are very proud of our achievement.
