This calendar year in St. Pius X GNS the school implemented a mobility project funded by the Erasmus + initiative of the European Commission. Eraspus+ is the EU’s programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe.
We set out to enhance our mindfulness, ICT and game-based learning approaches in the classroom. During the first week of the Easter break in April 2023, 8 members of staff attended a CPD course in Malaga, Spain. During their stay, they attended workshops on the above areas where they collaborated and shared ideas with other European educators as well as other Irish teachers.
Our project saw the implementation of the CapCut app. 4th class made short films using the app which features a green screen. The student council facilitated mindfulness sessions in each class. Teachers further implemented game based learning in their lessons. We were delighted to recieve and raise our Erasmus + flag outside the school.
